Bilate Microphone Boom Pole
Boompole from Bilate is an extendable boom pole that is very light (only 600 gram) and designed to offer stable and versatile microphone positioning for boom operators on set and in field recording.
The 3-section pole extends from 1.15 to 2.8 meters in length. Each section can be adjusted, then secured via friction locks. This aluminum boom pole is compatible with 3/8″ and 5/8″ mounts. It provides velcro straps for convenient cable management.
Advantages of Booming
Overhead positioning gets the microphone closer to the actors rather than leaving the microphone mounted on the camera. It also reduces ambient sounds, as angling the microphone helps reject background noise while putting actual dialogue in the pickup zone.
